Sun Splash treats moms this weekend

3 min read

Mothers looking for some fun in the sun this weekend can stop by Cape Coral’s water park.

In recognition of Mother’s Day, Sun Splash Family Waterpark will offer free admission to mothers on Saturday and Sunday with the purchase of a regular-priced, general admission child or teen ticket.

“Moms get in free with a paid child or teen ticket,” Sandie Greiner, the park manager, said.

The mothers will also have a chance at winning a raffle prize, including a three-day, two-night stay at Pointe Estero Beach Resort valued at $750, a gift certificate to Ideal Image valued at $1,965, a gift certificate to Bath and Body Works valued at $250 and a gift certificate to Pure Florida valued at $250.

“We have some great prizes,” she said.

Each mother will receive an entry form to fill out.

The drawing will be held on Sunday at 4 p.m.; the winners do not need to be present to win.

According to Greiner, the park started the free weekends a couple of years ago.

“It’s a family water park,” she said. “It’s a good family thing to do on these holidays.”

The park extends the same courtesy to fathers in June on their special day.

“We always do it for Father’s Day, as well,” Greiner said.

She noted that attendance is always high on the holiday weekends.

“We will probably hit near-capacity,” Greiner said.

Maximum capacity at the park is 1,650 people.

Greiner pointed out that the new Pirate’s Cove is open for families to enjoy.

“Our new feature is up and running,” she said. “It has roughly 32 interactive features.”

Replacing the original Tot Spot, Pirate’s Cove is designed for children and teens.

“So far it has been a major hit,” Greiner said, noting that it has increased attendance by itself.

The public is invited to come out this weekend for a little fun and sun.

“The prizes are great and the cost is, obviously, cheap,” she said.

Those interested in a cabana rental should show up early.

“They go fast,” Greiner said.

The park is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

A child’s ticket for ages 2-12 costs $14.95 for Cape residents and $17.95 for non-residents. Ages 13 and older must purchase an adult ticket; it costs $16.95 for Cape residents and $19.95 for non-residents.

Parking costs $5 per day or $2 for season pass holders.
