State Attorney’s Office expands Homicide Unit
The State Attorney’s Office has expanded the Homicide Unit for the 20th Judicial Circuit. Three experienced prosecutors from the office will now exclusively work within the unit on homicide cases.
Assistant State Attorneys Lanna Belohlavek, Sara Miller and Orion Wright will join Assistant State Attorneys Dan Feinberg, Andreas Gardiner, Hamid Hunter, Mara Marzano and Martin Stark in the unit.
“The Homicide Unit’s prosecutors focus solely on prosecuting homicides including Murder, DUI Manslaughter and Vehicular Homicide as well as special assignments,” a release from the office states. “They work closely with law enforcement agencies throughout the circuit as cases are developed. These prosecutors have investigative and support staff who also are dedicated to these often complex cases.”
The prosecutors in the Homicide Unit handle cases throughout the 20th Judicial Circuit.
“While they handle the bulk of the homicide cases, other experienced prosecutors in the office also assist the homicide unit in prosecuting these cases. Currently, this unit is handling over 50 cases,” the release states.
