Identity of fatally injured utility worker released
The name of a lineman who died Tuesday after coming into contact with a high-voltage charge while performing work near the Cape Coral Post Office has been identified.
Timothy R. Moreno, a 38-year old Cape Coral resident, was performing maintenance work as part of a crew with Mastec, a company that provides power line work to LCEC, according to a police report released Friday.
The crew had been working at the site in the 800 block of Southeast 10th Street for some time before the 10:34 a.m. incident, officials said.
Moreno was taken by ambulance to Cape Coral Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
