Woman injured in January crash discharged from hospital

A driver has been released from a local hospital following an accident last month.

As of Thursday, Yvrose Duperard-Absolu, 33, of Lehigh Acres, had been discharged from Lee Memorial Hospital, where she was transported on Jan. 6 after crash, according to officials.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that Knute Linzenmeyer, 20, of Cape Coral, was driving eastbound on state Route 82 in a Ford F-150 and approaching the intersection of Alabama Road. At the time, a Buick Enclave was headed westbound on 82 and approaching the Alabama intersection.

At 9:11 p.m., Linzenmeyer tried to turn left onto Alabama, entering the westbound lane of 82.

According to the FHP, the Ford directly entered the path of the Buick, which was being driven by Duperard-Absolu. Duperard-Absolu was unable to avoid hitting Linzenmeyer’s truck.

The front of the Buick collided with the front of the Ford.

Linzenmeyer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.

He has since been treated and released.

Duperard-Absolu sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

The FHP reported that Linzenmeyer was cited for an improper left turn.
