Traffic stop leads to heroin possession charge
A traffic stop made for failing to maintain a single lane led to an arrest for a concealed weapon and possession of heroin Tuesday.
Cape Coral Police made the stop in the 4400 block of Pelican Boulevard of 1210 S.W. 8th Court, Lehigh Acres, for failing to maintain a single lane.
The driver, identified as Daniel Brett Starr, 33, appeared nervous, and had a 10-inch knife with brass knuckles within his immediate reach, officials said in a release issued today.
Further investigation revealed that Starr, who had never possessed a Florida driver’s license, possessed two small baggies of heroin, the release states.
Starr was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapon, no valid driver’s license and transported to the Lee County Jail.
