Teens arrested in Busey Bank robbery
Two teens have been charged in connection with a bank robbery at a Busey Bank branch on Del Prado Boulevard Monday.
Cape Coral Police Department detectives were quickly able to develop Christian Miller, 19, and Hayley Pettrey, 17, as suspects in the 11:15 robbery at the bank at 2524 Del Prado Boulevard South, police officials said Thursday.
Pettrey was a listed runaway out of Ohio, and Miller had an active warrant for interfering with custody for running away with Pettrey, the CCPD release states. U.S. Marshals located the pair in Lake City and Columbia County served warrants written by Cape Coral detectives for the two teens, who are from Painesville.
Each face one count of robbery.
The investigation began after witnesses reported that a white female, wearing a black hoodie printed with “This Is The Cartel” and a silhouette of Ohio, had robbed the bank and fled on foot down Southeast 25th Lane.
The robber did not display any weapon, officials said.
