Mariner High Students Place 2nd in Onsite Structural Competition
Eight Mariner High School students joined 400 student leaders from around Florida to participate in the Technology Student Association Leadership Conference and Competition held Nov. 3-5.
The eight students entered the competition as four teams of two. One of the four teams entered, won second place in the Structural Competition and the entire 8-person team received an Honorable Mention Certificate for its Flight Plan Development.
During the conference students learned how to run their chapter, gained fundraising ideas, and participated in technology competitions. Competitions involved students from different schools working together to accomplish various tasks that measured speed, problem solving, knowledge and teamwork.
Their next challenge will be at the state competition in March, 2017.
The students are currently working to raise $10,000 to pay the cost for 20 students to participate.
