Zonta Club of Cape Coral now forming

2 min read

An informational gathering focused on forming a Zonta club in Cape Coral will be held Thursday, July 28, at Gulf Coast Villages, 1333 Santa Barbara Boulevard. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., beginning with a social reception, with the main presentation from 6-7 p.m.

Zonta is a global service organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Zonta envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision-making positions on an equal basis with men. In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.

There are nearly 150 Zontians in Southwest Florida, active in clubs on Sanibel, in Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs, Punta Gorda-Port Charlotte, and Sarasota; organizers are confident there is sufficient support for forming a new club in Cape Coral.

Join Cape Coral residents Lois Welsh and Cathy Tunney and seize the opportunity to be named among the charter members of the Zonta Club of Cape Coral.

“I’m excited to help start a Cape Coral chapter of this organization that is doing so much important work locally and globally,” said Welsh in a prepared statement. “The Zontians I’ve worked with so far are among the most sincere and capable folks I’ve met.”
