Crime Stoppers: Witness accounts of paramount importance in aftermath of Club Blu shootings

2 min read

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help generating any information on the deadly shootings at Club Blu early Monday day morning.

Teenagers Sean Archilles and Sef’an Strawder both lost their lives to gunshot wounds during the early morning shootings, and 18 others were injured as a result of the horrific act of violence. Detectives have been working tirelessly over the last day and a half collecting evidence and talking to witnesses, however few individuals are cooperating with the investigation, and not one single Crime Stoppers tip has been received.

“What happened yesterday morning at Club Blu completely rocked our community. Young lives, that held so much promise for the future, were senselessly taken. Many others were randomly shot, leaving both physical and mental wounds,” said Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers coordinator, in a prepared statement. “We are confident that there are people who have information on the shooters involved, and the individuals who had clear intentions to incite murder and mayhem that morning. They just, for whatever reason, haven’t come forward yet. It’s important that people remember that if they call Crime Stoppers, they will remain completely anonymous nobody will ever know they called. But the information known by a significant number of individuals is pivotal to moving this case forward, and ensuring that the parties responsible for their deadly actions are brought to justice.”

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrests of the persons responsible for the murders of Archilles and Strawder, as well as the attacks on 18 other individuals. An additional reward of $20,000 is also being offered through a collective effort of the Fort Myers Police Department and the FBI.

Anyone with any information on the persons responsible for the shootings, motives for the shootings, or even second hand information on things they may have heard or seen at Club Blu, or leading up to the attack, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers and $20,000 from the Fort Myers Police Department and the FBI.
