Woman released from hospital following crash
A Cape Coal driver has been released from the hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash.
As of Tuesday, Liliatne Meseguer, 20, of 829 N.E. Ninth St., has been discharged from Lee Memorial Hospital, where she was taken May 27 after the Andalusia Boulevard and Tropicana Parkway crash.
Police reported that Meseguer was driving a BMW eastbound on Tropicana at 7:58 a.m. when she approached the stop sign at Andalusia. After coming to a stop, she tried to turn left onto Andalusia and was T-boned by a southbound Acura, driven by Kristopher Allen Mock, 19, 17131 Pleasure Road.
Witnesses told police that Mock was headed southbound on Andalusia at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. He also began to skid before the front of his vehicle struck the driver’s side of the BMW.
All vehicles were redirected to the southwest, off the edge of the roadway.
According to a report, Mock was driving an estimated 70 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Meseguer sustained multiple life-threatening injuries and was trauma-alerted to the hospital.
Mock sustained minor injuries and was also transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.
Police reported that he was treated and later released.
The accident is not alcohol or drug related, according to officials.
