Attempted traffic stop leads to arrest of two women
Two women are in jail today on warrants, narcotics and traffic charges, after leading Cape Coral Police on a brief chase yesterday.
According to a report by the CCPD, around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Officer Nicholas Slover attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Kia that made an illegal u-turn at Del Prado Boulevard and Veterans Parkway. The vehicle initially began to slow and then accelerated to a speed of 60 mph and fled into a nearby neighborhood.
Additional officers responded to the area to assist, the report states. The Kia was seen pulling into a service station north of St. Andrews Church and two females fled the vehicle on foot. Both were immediately taken into custody without incident.
The women were identified as Malorie Johnson, 23, the driver, and Jordan Fisher, 23. A teletype check revealed that the driver, Johnson, had 31 suspensions and a failure to appear warrant. Fisherwas found to be in possession of 7 different types of opiate pills/tablets to including heroin and a cut straw with residue and also had a warrant for failure to appear.
Both were transported to Lee County Jail.
