A woman was killed Monday morning after she rolled her vehicle in north Cape Coral.

Cindy Lou Gutierrez, 51, of 1665 S. Antler Trail, Jacksonville, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Burnt Store Road, North, according to the Cape police. She was not wearing a seat belt.

At 2:56 a.m., Gutierrez was driving a Chevrolet Sonic north on Burnt Store Road when the vehicle reportedly left the roadway for unknown reasons in the 4200 block. It entered a vacant field to the right and traveled down an embankment. The Sonic then hit the opposite embankment and went airborne.

After landing, the vehicle rolled several times before it came to a stop upside down on its hood.

Police reported that the crash is believed to be alcohol or drug related.

The final determination is pending the autopsy results.

There is no indication any other vehicle was involved; it appears to be a single-vehicle accident.

The city of Cape Coral has recorded four traffic fatalities so far for 2015.
