Sponsors and golfers sought for 3rd Annual Adventist Community Services Golf Tournament and Banquet
The 3rd Annual Adventist Community Services Golf Tournament and Banquet Fundraiser will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, at Palmetto-Pine Country Club in Cape Coral to benefit the less fortunate in the area. Golf registration and breakfast is at 7:30 a.m., with tee off at 8:30 a.m. Shotgun start and scramble format.
Golfers will enjoy a good clean day of fun and golf. For $100 per golfer, participants will receive greens fees, cart, golfer gift bag, breakfast, lunch and premium buffet. Companies bringing a foursome get a free hole sponsorship. Varying levels of sponsorship are available: Hole Sponsor $125, Flag Sponsor $175, Breakfast Sponsor $200, Buffet Sponsor $500. Other sponsorship opportunities are Silver, Gold and Platinum for $1,000, $1,500, and $2,000, respectively. Sponsors for these three levels are entitled to bring a foursome to play on the day of the fund-raising event without the payment of the entry fee. Donors and sponsors get special recognition and publicity on event day.
There will be four Hole-In-One challenges during the event, with different prizes, including one for $10,000. Other additional prizes are for first, second, and third place, longest drive and closest to the pin. Afternoon activities will include raffle and auctions.
Non-golfers can participate in the premium country club banquet, raffle, silent auction and will get a gift bag for $40 per person. Registrations and donations should be sent to: ACS, PO Box 151207, Cape Coral, FL 33915.
The organizing committee is seeking prizes for the various prize packages and silent auction that will be a valuable part of the banquet. Prize donors also receive special recognition and media exposure.
The registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, Sept. 30, in order to receive a 10 percent discount, but sponsors and donors need to respond as soon as possible, said Mercedes Ruiz, Golf Committee Chair.
The ACS Center has been serving the community since April 2013, and it is located at 829 S.E. 47th Terrace in downtown Cape Coral, across from the bus depot. It is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. With funds derived from last year’s event, 126 families were fed for six months. ACS is affiliated with Harry Chapin Food Bank, which helps provide food for those in need. Clothing and resource counseling are also provided. In the future, the center plans to add education classes to teach English as a second language, healthy living like becoming smoke-free and making good choices. The ACS of Cape Coral depends on donations to operate and help the needy.
