The Reading Rocks! Teen Battle of the Bands contest entry deadline is Feb. 15; Festival is March 15
Teen bands have limited time left to upload their music entries to the Reading Rocks! Teen Battle of the Bands. The top three bands will receive prize packages and will perform live in the Battle finals at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival March 15. Bands must complete an online entry form at www.howlgallery.com/readingrocks and upload their best video or audio performance to YouTube.com by the deadline of midnight Feb. 14. Online public voting will begin February 16th until Feb 23 at www.howlgallery.com/readingrocks.
The contest is open to bands of two or more individuals who are residents of Lee County and are between the ages of 13 to 19 years old on the date of entry. Proof of age is required.The bands will be judged by a combination of judge’s panel and online voting. The final battle at the Reading Festival will be determined by crowd source voting provided by Cat Country Radio and the points given by the judge’s panel. The judge’s panel will evaluate each band on musical skill, ensemble, originality, musicianship and stage presence.
The first place prize includes an eight-hour studio recording session at Sonic Recording Studios, a professional photo from Snap Flash Photo and a feature article in Spot Music Magazine. The event is presented by Howl Gallery, CAT Country and the Southwest Florida Reading Festival and is intended to encourage involvement in reading and the arts among high school and middle school age students!
