Victim in fatal crash identified as Cape Coral woman
A Cape Coral woman died Sunday after the motorcycle she was driving struck a curb and she was ejected from the bike.
Elizabeth Perez, 20, of 303 SW 11th Court, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near the intersection of Imperial Parkway and Waterfall Drive in Bonita Springs.
The accident happened at approximately 4 p.m, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Preliminary information reveals the driver of the motorcycle was traveling south on Imperial Parkway. As the driver attempted to negotiate the curve, she struck the median curb and was thrown off the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries, officials said in a statement released Sunday afternoon, adding excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.
