New police chief, staff, to be featured speakers at Civic Jan. 28

2 min read

The Cape Coral Civic Association will host the newly appointed Police Chief Bart Connelly and members of his staff as guest speakers at its Jan. 28 public meeting.

This is an opportunity for the people of Cape Coral to meet and interact with some of the people tasked to keep Cape Coral safe.

In addition to the chief, acting Deputy Chief David Newlan, and Patrol Captain Kurt Graf will be available to answer questions presented by the public in attendance.

After the retirement of Chief Jay Murphy last year, Connelly took on the position of interim police chief, until given the permanent position earlier this month. Civic congratulates him, and wants to show support and give an open forum for discussion with the public.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Cape Coral Yacht Club Ballroom on Driftwood Parkway.

“Come, join us in our first meeting of the new year, enjoy the company and at the same time expand your education with those that serve on the Cape Coral Police Department,” organizers said.

Refreshments will be served, and a chance to meet one-on-one with the speakers will be available. Bring a question and a friend and come join us. Parking is free and the public is invited.
