Great Pumpkin Fest at Fleamasters
It’s October, and that means it’s time to pick your pumpkin for Halloween.
Among the pumpkin patch events is one at Fleamasters.
Fleamasters will hold its annual Great Pumpkin Festival this weekend from Oct. 11 to 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., all in celebration of your favorite gord.
This event has gotten bigger in each of the previous two years this was held.
The event will feature shopping, free entertainment and, of course, pumpkins to gander at, to buy, and to decorate.
Market goers can adopt a pumpkin ($5 to $15 per pumpkin) to personalize and take home at the Pumpkin Patch. You also will be able to create a special Pumpkin Fest memory at the “Pumpkin Farmer’s Family Photo Spot.”
Musicians will stroll the main market, while others will perform on the Music Hall stage.
Featured performers will include country artist Colton James, the Blue Dirt Dixieland Jazz Band, Sanibel performer John Stey, and accordionist Bob Lech.
The Bayshore Elementary School Cloggers from North Fort Myers will dance Saturday at 1 p.m., and Hot Flashz dance team will perform Sunday at noon.
The amazing Way Too Tall Torrie will navigate Fleamasters’ aisles, and the talented face-painter, Twinkletoes the Clown, will entertain Saturday and Sunday.About the only thing that won’t be there from last year is the pumpkin recipe contest. But what will be at Fleamasters is what it usually has; lots of shopping opportunities.
Fleamasters is at the corner of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Michigan Avenue in Fort Myers. For more information, go to its website at: www.fleamall.com.
For those looking for something to do on Halloween, the North Shore Alliance Church at 330 W. Mariana Ave. is having its 13th annual Harvest Fest on Halloween from 6-8 p.m.
Everyone is welcome and it is one of their largest community outreach events that is fun for everyone. Everything from the food to games is free. Activities will include a huge rock climbing wall, carnival style games, bounce houses, super slide, obstacle course, face/hair painting and tattoos, which is all inside so weather is never a factor. There also will be hayride and both, inside and outside, there will be a room set up trick or treating style for an opportunity to collect even more candy so kids don’t have to miss out on that door-to-door experience. Besides candy, candy, candy we will provide hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn and other sweet treats for all!
