‘Catch the Vision’ set for Nov. 12
Area residents interested in the state of Cape Coral’s economy will have an opportunity to hear about projects and projections from industry leaders when the Catch the Vision Cape Coral: A 2014 Real Estate Look Forward is offered Nov. 12.
Now in its second year, this year’s program will “showcase new real estate developments and businesses coming to Cape Coral, and outline commercial opportunities that are available as Southwest Florida’s largest city continues to attract new companies.”
Also featured will be an update from city officials who will talk about pending projects – including, organizers hope, some new ones that have yet to be announced.
“Last year we were on our way back, the future was so bright we needed shades,” said Linda Biondi, one of the organizers. “This year, we’re more like a walk in the park. Our economy is coming back, Cape Coral is coming back really strong. The event will showcase that.”
A full list of the projects to be profiled has yet to be completed as the city has some things exciting things in the works that they are hoping will be solidified in the next week or two.
“Simply amazing,” said Biondi of all the things in the economic development queue.
The event is being held at Cape Christian Fellowship; doors will open at 5 p.m. for a meet-and greet and mini-trade show featuring mostly small, local businesses. Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with merchants and vendors, fill out drawing entries and hear informational “educational bites” about event sponsors and any specials they are now offering.
The main program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The presentations will tie the Cape’s multiple projects together, and will feature some heavy hitters, said organizer Gloria Tate.
“There’s a lot of things you may have heard snippets of,” she said. “It’s just going to tie it all together for the big picture. You should be able to see full circle what the midpoint corridor is going to look like.
“I think it’s important that they (residents) come and learn what the future of their city is going to look like,” Tate added.
Tickets are $10 and include a boxed dinner and Java Dora coffee bar.
“We encourage people to get them in advance,” Tate said, adding this will allow for a head count for the dinners.
Cape Christian Fellowship is at 2110 Chiquita Boulevard.
