Update:
James Witty, 3, has been located safe at a daycare center.
Original story:
Cape Coral police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 3-year-old, whose whereabouts are unknown after his mother was taken to Cape Coral Hospital for a medical condition.
James Witty, 3, is missing from 521 S.E. 5th Place, Cape Coral police said in a missing child alert issued Wednesday afternoon.
James, who is about 3 feet tall and weighs about 40 pounds, has blond hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue shirt and green and black shoes.
EMS had responded earlier in the day to the residence for a woman in need of medical attention. She was transported to Cape Coral Hospital. Shortly after, a social worker from the hospital called Cape Coral Police to check on the welfare of James, who was believed to be at the residence, officials said.
Upon checking, James was not there.
James’s father, who resides at another address, was contacted and he confirmed that he did not have James, officials said, adding checks of James’s school revealed that he did not arrive today.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of James Witty is asked to contact the Cape Coral Police Department at 574-3223 or 911.
