Water service will be shut off for 122 customers in the Ceitus Parkway/Burnt Store Road area beginning at 11 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 8. Water will be off until 6 a.m. Monday.

The shutdown is required for the Pine Island Road widening project from Chiquita Boulevard to Burnt Store Road. Florida Department of Transportation crews are installing a drainage system that will connect to the Ceitus Canal.

The area affected is: Ceitus Parkway west from S.W. 20th Avenue to Burnt Store Road; Ceitus Parkway west from Burnt Store Road to Joe Stonis Park; and Burnt Store Road north from Ceitus Parkway to Blue Water Coach Homes

This area includes Christa McAuliffe Elementary School, Publix Shopping Center and McDonald’s, Walgreens, Jim Jeffers Park and Joe Stonis Park. There are 47 single-family residences affected along with 57 units at the Blue Water Coach Homes development.

All of the customers will be under a precautionary boil water notice until notification from the Lee County Health Department. The city will alert the media when the boil water notice has been rescinded.
