‘Quidam’: Cirque du Soleil set for Aug. 7 to 11
After a phenomenal performance during its local circuit stop last year at Germain Arena, Cirque du Soleil will present its critically acclaimed production “Quidam” at the arena Wednesday to Sunday, Aug. 7 to 11, for eight performances before getting back on the road.
Fans are travelling from near and far to see the wild feat of dazzling gymnastic abilities and ground-breaking musical numbers, just as they did for its Asian-styled sister performance, Dralion, last year.
The several-hour-long performance is absolutely breathtaking, with something always taking place somewhere on or?off the stage, to wow the eyes and dazzle the hearts and the imagination.
Its music and choreography is fantastic, and the viewers’ eyes are always busy, watching the multiple feats taking place on the stage at any given moment.
The show is truly one for all of the senses, and don’t be surprised if you catch your mouth open in amazement more than once per segment.
Each of the interacting characters’ moves are flawless with the next, and one can see the true dedication and spirit it takes to pull off such daring and spectacular feats day in and day out.
The show’s storyline is “Young Zo is bored; her parents, distant and apathetic, ignore her. Her life has lost all meaning. Seeking to fill the void of her existence, she slides into an imaginary world -the world of Quidam – where she meets characters who encourage her to free her soul.”
Quidam had its world premiere in Montreal under the Big Top in April 1996. Since then, the production has toured on five continents and has been experienced by millions. In December 2010, Quidam embarked on a new journey, performing the same captivating production, but now in arenas throughout North America. The international cast features 52 world-class acrobats, musicians, singers and characters.
