Clerks office issues advisory concerning property deeds
Linda Doggett, Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller, wishes to bring to your attention that a Delaware company is sending notices to Lee County property owners stating that they should have a copy of their deed and that the company will provide it to them for a fee of $83.
Please be aware that deeds are freely available in the public records and you are able to use the Clerks website www.leeclerk.org to find and print a free copy of your deed. If you prefer to have the Clerk to provide you with a copy, there is a fee of $2 per search;$1 per page for the copies; and certified copies cost an additional $2 per document.
