Fundraiser to benefit child in need of bone marrow transplant

1 min read

A combination fundraiser and bone marrow match search will be held in North Fort Myers Sunday to benefit a 7-year-old in need of a transplant.

Chase Johnson, the son of Lisa Synder and Chris Johnson, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in January 2012. Docotors succeeded in getting the leukemia in remission with chemotherapy but Chase recently relapsed while in treatment.

He now must face another battle, a bone marrow transplant.

The search and fundraiser will be held from 8 a.m to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Dorados Dockside Seafood, 3448 Marinatown Lane.

There will a full day of activities, including live music, a car wash, raffles, silent auction, food and a bounce house.

“Be the Match” will be taking mouth swabs to find a donor match for Chase.

The event is free; cash donations are welcome.

Organizers ask the community to please come support a great cause for a little boy much in need.
