Diplomat student documentary makers to represent state in History Day event
Diplomat Middle School is proud to announce that students Julie Nguyen and Tuan Tran have been selected to represent Florida at the National History Day Contest, scheduled to be held on the campus of the University of Maryland from June 9-13, 2013.
National History Day is a nationally acclaimed academic enrichment program that promotes the study of history in schools.
Julie and Tuan’s documentary, End of the Vietnam War: A Turning Point in Vietnamese Immigration and its Impact on America, earned second place in the statewide competition held in Tallahassee earlier this month.
As participants at the national level, Julie and Tuan will represent not only Diplomat Middle School and our District, but the entire state of Florida as delegates. They will be competing with students from all over the United States, Guam, American Samoa, Department of Defense schools in Europe, and China.
