Woman facing multiple molestation, sexual battery charges

A Cape Coral woman is facing multiple molestation and sexual battery charges against a child following her arrest nearly two weeks ago.
Vicki Sue McHugh, 33, of 205 S.E. 23rd Place, was arrested and charged April 18 with two counts each of lewd lascivious behavior molest victim less than 12 years of age offender 18 years of age or older and sex assault by 18 years of age or older sex battery victim under 12 years of age.
The State Attorney’s Office has since officially filed charges.
“We filed two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of sexual battery on a child less than 12 years old,” spokeswoman Samantha Syoen said Tuesday, pointing out that McHugh has not been arraigned.
“No documents are public record yet,” she said.
McHugh’s arraignment is set for May 20.
Assistant public defender Shakia Burnam is representing her.
Burnam did not return a message Tuesday seeking comment on the case.
McHugh remains in custody at the Lee County Jail without bond.
