Water main break on Kamal Parkway causes temporary loss of pressure

1 min read

A 16-inch water main break at 6 a.m. caused temporary low pressure for many of the city’s water/sewer customers, according to a release issued by the city of Cape Coral.

The line break occurred in the 100 block of Kamal Parkway, which is in the vicinity of a prior main break on April 18. The main break has been isolated and pressure throughout the system restored; however, some customers may experience cloudy or brown water. The discolored water does not pose a health risk.

City officials indicated that service will be out to an isolated area (about 60 homes) until about 2 p.m. Precautionary boil water notices will be issued. The water main break was caused by the rock bed under the line.
