Tiki Hut Bar & Grill to host ‘Live Arts Show’

The Tiki Hut Bar & Grill has set the second of its arts nights fund-raisers tonight.

The “Live Arts Show” will run from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday in the courtyard at the Tiki Hut at the corner of Del Prado Boulevard and Miramar Street in Cape Coral.

Approximately 15 artists are expected to display their work while Dance World break dancers will again perform.

This month, the fund-raiser, which is being held in conjunction with Circus Art United, will benefit the ARC animal shelter.

Last month’s arts night, held April 12, benefited the American Cancer Society.

“It’s the second time,” said owner Magdalena Tengroth. “It’s an event we do the second Friday of every month.”

The first one was well attended and received, she said.

“It was very popular; it went very well,” Tengroth said.

The idea for the event came from the art community, she said, adding that Brian Weaver, an artist, is the founder, and Kenny Bonilla, a dance instructor at Dance World, is the co-founder.

“We’re doing it because Brian came and asked me, and I just thought it was a wonderful cause; it’s for charity and it supports the artists. We have a big enough space to do this, and I just thought, what a good combination,” Tengroth said.

She is hoping for another good turnout.

“It’s a fun, joyous event,” she said.
