City: Two water main breaks repaired
Two 16-inch water main breaks have been repaired and service restored, according to a release issued late Thursday afternoon by the city of Cape Coral.
The water main breaks were unrelated, and both were caused by the rock bed under the lines.
The first 16-inch main break occurred this morning at 7 a.m. near Southeast 27th Terrace and Archer Parkway. The break caused low pressure problems for many of the city’s water/sewer customers and produced cloudy or brown water for some consumers. The discolored water did not pose a health risk. The repairs were completed by noon, and no precautionary boil water notices were issued as no customers experienced loss of service.
The second 16-inch water main break was reported at 11:30 a.m. at 137 Kamal Parkway. Repairs have been completed and service is being restored. city crews have issued 63 precautionary boil water notices.
