Death investigation under way after body found in garage; foul play not suspected

Cape Coral police are conducting a death investigation after a man was found dead inside a vehicle parked in the garage of a southeast Cape home Tuesday afternoon.

The vehicle was running and is believed to have caught on fire, creating a lot of smoke inside of the garage and residence in the 3700 block of Southeast 13th Ave., officials said.

Detectives do not suspect foul play. The deceased, whose name has not been released, will be taken to the Lee Medical Examiner’s Office.
