Crimestoppers seeks public aid following grocery store robbery
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help identifying a man who robbed a Cape Coral Publix store last weekend, threatening to shoot employees and customers if he didn’t get his way.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. last Sunday, an unknown man walked into the Publix at 1631 Del Prado Boulevard, and waited in line at the customer service counter. When he approached the store’s clerk, he implied that he had a weapon, and threatened to shoot the clerk and the store’s patrons if she failed to comply. The man quickly left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, and now, Cape police need your help putting a name with the robber’s face.
The suspect is described as a large male, roughly 6’4″ and well over 300 pounds. He was wearing a black ball cap, with blue tape covering a logo. He fled the store on foot, however left one of his sandals in the process.
