Cape police searching for shooting suspect
Cape Coral police are searching for a man and a vehicle in connection to a shooting at a Cape Coral residence Tuesday that left one person dead.
The suspect is described as a black man with a thin build and short hair, according to officials. He was wearing a black T-shirt and gray pants.
Witnesses reported observing a black SUV, possibly a Cadillac Escalade, leaving the Cape neighborhood around the time of the shooting.
Just after 2 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a report of a shooting at 4128 S.W. Seventh Place. Officers discovered Andre Kayson Warburton, 25, of 4348 Cortina Circle, Fort Myers, outside of the doorway of the home.
Warburton had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died on scene.
According to officials, his body was taken to the Lee County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday evening. An autopsy is scheduled.
