Report: Cape man gropes girls, exposes himself
A Cape Coral man is accused of forcing himself on two girls and asking for sexual acts, as well as exposing himself on more than one occasion.
Ariel Insua, 41, of 142 S.E. 11th Terrace, was arrested and charged Friday with three counts of battery touch or strike, three counts of sex offense unnatural and lascivious act, and two counts of indecent exposure in public.
He has since been released from the Lee County Jail on $40,000 bond.
On Wednesday, Insua directed inquires to his attorney, Miguel Fernandez.
Fernandez did not return a message seeking comment on the charges.
On Feb. 4, Cape police responded to a school in reference to a possible sex offense and took down an information report. Detectives later contacted the complainant in the report for an interview, according to the arrest report.
The ages of the reported victims were unclear Wednesday.
On Feb. 11, one victim reportedly told police that Insua had tried to grope her and another girl in a sexual manner in November, despite being told to stop.
Insua continued to “harass the girls and touch them against their will,” the report states. He also asked one of the victims to perform a sexual act.
Insua allegedly kissed one of the victims by force and exposed himself.
According to the report, Insua again forced himself on one victim on Feb. 1. When she tried to get away, he “grabbed her and forcibly kissed her” against her will. The following day, Insua exposed himself again to one of the victims.
Both girls expressed their desire to press charges.
Insua turned himself in to police and was transported to the jail.
He has a court appearance scheduled for March 12.
