CCPD charges two with marijuana trafficking

A search of a home in northeast Cape Coral last week resulted in two arrests and the seizure of marijuana and cultivation equipment.

Ernesto Diaz, 30, and Mildrey Valdes, 34, both of 2110 N.W. 23rd St., were arrested and charged Jan. 10 with one count of marijuana traffick excess of 25 pounds or 300 plants or more, according to the Lee County Jail records.

Both were additionally charged with one count of drugs produce possess structure vehicle know drugs manufactured minor present.

As of Wednesday, Diaz was being held on $130,000 bond.

Valdes had been released on $60,000 bond, the records said.

She could not be reached for comment on the allegations

At about 9:26 p.m. Jan. 9, members of the Cape Coral Police Department served a search warrant at a home at 1402 N.E. 11th St., according to an arrest report. Marijuana and marijuana cultivation equipment were seized.

Diaz and Valdes were subsequently taken into custody.

Both have a court appearance set for Feb. 11.
