Oasis Charter Schools are inviting the public to come have fall fun at their third annual Fall Festival.

“This fun and exciting family event includes food vendors, games and inflatables for children of all ages,” said coordinator Kristina de Moya.

The event will be held at Oasis Charter Schools Campus at 3415 Oasis Blvd.

“The three schools in the system are all adjacent to each other. There will be activities behind each school,” she said.

“This is a big fund raiser for each grade and group throughout all three schools,” said parent and Event Chair Jen-Hope Belis, “A portion goes to the PTO for various projects. For example, it may go to the football program or for technology for the classroom. It could even be a fifth grade field trip.”

There will also be animals there. along with great food.

“We will also have a petting zoo, and great food from Bubba’s Roadhouse. They are donating a portion of their proceeds.”

It is a kickoff to the Charter System’s local philanthropic school events. “That includes two walks. One is PB & J 5 K, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 3. The other is a mini-Relay For Life that will be held on March 8.”

All of the money from the mini-Relay will go toward the Oasis Relay for Life Team that will part of the city-wide celebration to raise funds to beat cancer. “As many may know, four different students in our schools have been survivors of cancer.”

Of why she is so devoted to the Charter school system, she said, “I think they tend to bring it back to the community. Their mantra is “Caring, Sharing and Being Respectful.”
