Spirits of Bacchus wins Festival of Trees’ Signature Cocktail Contest

2 min read

Fort Myers- “Treesome,” a libation mixed by Spirits of Bacchus bartender Bria Womack, will be the signature cocktail of the fifth annual Tux & Trees Gala. The drink was selected at the Festival of Trees’ first ever-signature cocktail competition, which was hosted by the Hotel Indigo Fort Myers. Treesome’s competition included entries from Phi at the Hotel Indigo, the Hideaway Sports Bar, and the Morgan House.

The potent potables were judged by a panel made up of Festival of Trees sponsors and decorators.

“Our judges really enjoyed Treesome,” says Kirsten O’Donnell of the Festival of Trees committee. “The drink has a distinct cocoa and coffee flavor, and a bit of a kick to it. Even though it’s a chilled cocktail, I think reminded the judges of drinking hot chocolate on chilly winter nights.”

The Festival of Trees is a week-long holiday celebration that begins the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 25) with a free showcase of beautifully decorated Christmas trees at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in the Fort Myers River District. Last year, nearly 5,000 visitors attended the festival, which continues for a full week.

Spirits of Bacchus’ winning drink will be served at the Tux & Trees Gala on December 3. The Gala is a black-tie optional auction and fundraiser, which concludes the Festival of Trees. Both events are hosted by the Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation.

In four years, the Festival and Gala have raised nearly $215,000 to support Goodwill’s mission of helping people with disabilities and other disadvantages overcome their barriers to employment and independence.

The Festival of Trees and Tux & Trees Gala are presented with the assistance of sponsorships from The Home Depot, the Fort Myers News-Press, D’Latinos Magazine, Azteca America SWFL and Sunny 106.3.
