Body identified; officials say man was murdered
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation of a body discovered Wednesday afternoon just inside the Charlotte County line.
Evidence collected so far by detectives with the Charlotte and Lee County Sheriff’s Offices indicates the person is the victim of a homicide and that the death likely occurred in Lee County. The body was discovered in a wooded area off State Road 31 about one mile north of the Lee County line.
The victim has been identified as Bryan Sorendino, 30, of Fort Myers.
No other details are being released at this time as the investigation continues, officials said.
