Chiquita Lock in Cape to close temporarily for 9/11 memorial
The Chiquita Lock in Cape Coral will be closed from 9-10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11. This is due to the 9/11 memorial that is being held at Cape Harbour – RumRunners patio – waterside.
Boaters are invited to dock their boats along the boardwalk and attend the memorial.
Although the closure will be an inconvenience, due to the number of marine vessels that will be taking part in the memorial, for safety precautions the city must keep other boaters out of the area during that time period.
