Cape Harbour’s first Cruise-In set for May 5

2 min read

On the first Thursday of every month, beginning May 5, Cape Harbour will host a car Cruise-In for those who own a classic car, hot rod, a unique sports car, truck or motorcycle.
The monthly event will be held from 4-8 p.m. every month.
Glenda Swager, event coordinator, said the monthly Cruise-In event is a spin off of Cape Harour’s Water and Wheels event that it recently held. She said they had 89 cars registered before the event, with an additional 11 cars who signed up that day.
“There are so many car events at different places and everyone has asked ‘When are we going to do one at Cape Harbour,'” Swager said. “Over the year’s we decided it would be a good thing to do.”
Joe Circelli, who is helping organize the event, said individuals can just show up the night of the event with their car. There is no registration fee.
“Just come and have fun,” he said.
The cars will be displayed along the front of Cape Harbour’s Boathouse and in the grass across from Rumrunners Restaurant. Swager said they will accommodate whoever wants to show off their vehicle during the monthly event.
“It is really art on wheels,” she said. “They really take good care of their cars.”
Those who attend the event can shop the many boutiques, restaurants and bars at Cape Harbour’s Promenade.
Circelli said they are hoping to attract at least a 100 cars every month. The Cruise-In, he said, is being held to help the businesses at Cape Harbour, along with offering a fun event for everyone to attend.
“Come out and have fun and support our local businesses,” Circelli said.

“Gentlemen start your engines and come on down to Cape Harbour,” Swager said.
She said she believes that the Cruise-In could be a year-round event with the way that it is currently looking.
