Soldier from Fort Myers killed in Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier from Fort Myers who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Spc. Carlos J. Negron, 40, died July 10 at Asadabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered at Konar, Afghanistan when insurgents attacked his unit with rifle and small arms fire. He was assigned to 426th Forward Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
