With some of the most unique putting greens in Lee County, the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club annual Putt and Pub attracted 400 mini golf putters to Fort Myers Beach in a sold-out event that was the largest to date.

The 14th Putt and Pub was sponsored by the King Family Foundation and featured a dozen challenging golf putting stations, with some a few feet above ground and others requiring putters to navigate their aim around water.

Organizers partnered with 12 Fort Myers Beach restaurants on the putting greens. The funds raised from the event supported 13 local nonprofits, including the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club.

Attendees were encouraged to attend in costume, bringing out an assortment of colorful outfits from participants.

“A huge thank you to our sponsors this year – we had more sponsors than ever – who were so generous,” said event organizer Dawn Thomas.  “Our nonprofits and partnering restaurants created a fun-filled golf course.  We even had the weather cooperate.  Between our sponsorships, registration and business partnerships, we raised more than $70,000,” Thomas said.

Thomas said more than $50,000 of those funds will be distributed to 13 local nonprofits.

The other participating nonprofits this year were the Beach Kids Foundation, Friends of the Library, Friends of the Mound House, Friends of Lovers Key, Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce, Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation, Fort Myers Beach Parent Teachers Organization, FMB Strong, Fort Myers Beach Lions Club, Fort Myers Beach Art Association, Sanibel School Choral and Women of Irish Heritage, SWFL.

The event ended at the Sundeck at Margaritaville Beach Resort where awards were given out.

Thomas thanked “all the great golfers who came out to play and the volunteers who aided in another successful event.  We can’t wait for 2027.”
