The rebuilding of The Whale is moving along so swiftly you can almost taste the smoked wings. The Fort Myers Beach restaurant off Estero Boulevard is expected to reopen sometime this fall, owner Mike Miller said. The old iconic building, one of the oldest commercial buildings on Fort Myers Beach, was destroyed by Hurricane Ian.
