Public invited to town branding meeting
Do you have a particular color and image you associate with Fort Myers Beach that could be a part of its new logo or a theme that you believe should be played up in its branding?
Your thoughts will be welcome at a meeting with the town’s marketing consulting which is open to the public on Jan. 15 at the Bay Oaks Recreation Center.
Redevelopment Management Associates (RMA) was hired by the town as part of a $65,000 contract to formulate a new marketing plan.
Sharon McCormick, director of business attraction and marketing for RMA, will be leading the meeting. She has met with town council members, advisory committee members and department heads so far to get input as part of her research.
McCormick will set up at 2:30 p.m. to start the meeting at the Bay Oaks Recreation Center gym. Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., folks can drop by to give their input.
“We’re going to really be talking about the research findings and listening,” she said. “We’ve done a lot of research on the market analysis.” McCormick said she will be looking to hear from the public what they like most about Fort Myers Beach and what makes it unique.
Once the research and public comments are completed, McCormick said a logo will be put together. The goal is to have a logo concept, along with plans for the rebranding and marketing strategy formalized and approved before the town’s next election in March.
“We want to hear more before we go into the design process,” McCormick said.
