The fourth Roar Offshore Social Mixer Beach Party will be held Thursday at Junkanoo Beach featuring updates, two race boats and team members.

The party will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8, at Junkanoo Beach, 3040 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach. There will be free appetizers and a cash bar available.

Roar Offshore President Tim Hill said they hold the social mixers about every two, or three weeks, to invite the public out to one of their sponsor businesses, as well as giving the fans the opportunity to socialize with other fans. He said they also give a brief race update.

“We are averaging about 200 to 220 people at each event,” Hill said. “It’s a great opportunity for local businesses to hear about the races and look at sponsorship opportunities as well.”

In addition two race boats will be on display, as well as some of the team members.

The Aug. 8 mixer will also feature information about the VIP passes.

The next one will be held at Two Meatballs in the Kitchen, 8880 Salrose Lane, Fort Myers, from 5 to 8 pm. Tuesday, Aug. 13. On Friday, Aug. 16, Roar Offshore will head to downtown Fort Myers for Music Walk to promote the event.

The Roar Offshore Fort Myers Beach Powerboat Races will kick off Wednesday, Oct. 9 with opening ceremonies, live musical performances and an on water show.

The following day, Thursday, Oct. 10 a boat parade over Sky Bridge to Fort Myers Beach, as well as a Street Party with race boats lining the streets of Fort Myers Beach will take place.

On Friday, Hill said boats will be testing and the public is invited to visit the pits and see all the boats, meet the teams and get autographs. On Saturday, Oct. 12 the races will take place.
