Hosafros, Murphy win town council seats

Rexann Hosafros and Ray Murphy will return to Fort Myers Beach Town Council after winning the majority of votes for seats one and two on Tuesday night.

Both have previously served in council chambers.

Murphy served on the first town council for two terms, including a period as mayor, and Hosafros served as vice mayor in 2016.

Murphy won 34 percent of a total 3,314 votes, taking the lead.

Hosafros won 27 percent with 927 votes, and newcomer Dan Allers was close behind with 24 percent, or 813 votes.

Incumbent Dennis Boback lost his seat with 13 percent, or 431 votes.
