Tickets available for Valentine’s Day pirate cruise
Treat your sweetheart to a special “For Love or Rum” Valentine’s Day Pirate Cruise aboard the Pieces of Eight Pirate Ship this year, complete with some rum samples from Wicked Dolphin Distillery.
The 90-minute cruise will depart at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 and return to the docks at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by visiting www.floridapiratecruise.com/484-2/.
“It should be a really fun night. It’s certainly something unique to do with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day. The pirate show that is put on is rated ARRRR with adult themed humor. We have music on the boat, so there is a little bit of comedy and a little bit of a dance party,” Salty Sam’s Waterfront Adventures Marketing Director David Kastan said.
He encourages individuals interested in the cruise to purchase tickets in advance because it will be a popular cruise.
“Last year we had a Valentine’s Day cruise,” he said, adding that since they have developed a relationship with Wicked Dolphin Distillery they wanted to include them with this year’s cruise. “It’s going to be an adult (21 years and older) pirate cruise. An adult themed pirate show. People are encouraged to come in costume.”
A master distiller from Wicked Dolphin Distillery will be onboard sharing the history and process of rum making, as well as information about their Cape Coral distillery.
“They are offering free samples of different flavors,” Kastan said. “We have been aging a barrel of rum for a month. That night we are going to tap the barrel and everyone will be able to try some.”
As everyone departs the pirate ship they will be given a “two for one” drinks coupon for Wicked Dolphin rum at the Original Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill.
“The party continues at the Shrimp Dock Bar & Grill with special two for one coupons,” he said.
The 90-minute cruise will go out into the Gulf, as well as along the beach, sometimes as far as Diamondhead before heading back to the docks.
