Popular Putt and Pub Crawl swings into 8th year
Teams of four competed for putt-putt gold across downtown Fort Myers Beach at the 8th annual Putt and Pub Crawl on Saturday, hosted by the Fort Myers Beach Women’s Club for the first time this year.
Proceeds from the event, which was originally founded by Larry and Paula Kiker, went to various local non-profits such as Friends of Bay Oaks, the Edison Sailing Center, and the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation.
Nine holes were scattered around the business district starting at Nervous Nellie’s.
Teams dressed up in group costumes and competed for prizes donated by businesses like Gulfshore Grill, the Salty Crab, and Pete’s Time Out.
The award for best dressed went to “Scrub-a-Dub,” a bathtub-themed team made up of JoJo and Honey McCloskey and Ray and Noreen Ofner of Pennsylvania.
But the best team name? “We Like Big Putts.”
