Friends of the Mound House to host fundraising events
In 2018, the Friends of the Mound House will host a number of fundraising events on Fort Myers Beach. The group plans to raise a total of $25,000 in support of the Mound House, the Jewel of the Island. Toward that aspirational goal, the Friends are hosting a luncheon and silent auction on Saturday, Feb. 10 at South Beach Grille in Santini Plaza, Fort Myers Beach. Bidding will begin at 11:30 a.m.and lunch will served at 12:30 p.m.
The silent auction will include unique one-of-a kind items for consideration including original art work, handcrafted goods from West Africa: leather boxes from from Timbuktu, colorful cloth clutch bags, brass bangle bracelets, silver earrings and more.

Menu Options: Asian chopped salad with grilled chicken breast with artisan spring mix, romaine lettuce, sliced Mandarin oranges, carrots, red onion, snow peas, crispy wontons, and toasted sesame vinaigrette; grilled Atlantic salmon with honey mustard and horseradish glaze, smoked tomato coulis, wild rice pilaf, and French green beans; and pineapple upside down cake with white chocolate sauce.
Luncheon will include warm dinner rolls and butter and coffee, tea or soda.
