12th Annual Turtle Trot set for Saturday

Fort Myers Track Club is hosting the annual fundraising 5K, the 12th Annual Turtle Trot. Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Lovers Key group.
The race will be Saturday, May 13, starting at 8 a.m.
Don’t want to run on the sand? You won’t be. The beautiful race course winds through Lovers Key shell paths and shady maritime hammock habitiat. The course ends at the Lovers Key pavilion for refreshments and awards.
The race is chip-timed, with awards for male and female winners in overall, masters, grand masters, senior grandmasters, and age groups.
Early registration is available until Friday, May 12. Entry fees are $25 for youth and $35 for adults. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m.Saturday and will cost $40 for all entries.
