Local restaurants set to compete for Taste of the Beach

Come on down to Fort Myers Beach to enjoy tasty samples from local area restaurants as well as great live entertainment at the Taste of the Beach.

The 22nd Annual Taste of the Beach will be held Sunday, May 7, on Old San Carlos Blvd. just down the street from Times Square. Restaurants will offer samples of their signature dishes available for purchase and compete for top Taste of the Beach Award honors in the categories of Best Appetizer, Best Beef or Veal Dish, Best Seafood Dish, Best Chicken Dish, Best Dessert, Best Decorated Booth, and People’s Choice. Gates open at 11 a.m. Food will be served until it runs out or at 4p.m. Tickets will be available on site. Admission is $5 for adults and children over 12. Children under 12 are free. Food tickets will be $1 each, with a $5 average food serving price. Live music will be provided from 12 to4 p.m. This event is hosted by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.

  • The Chamber also has volunteer opportunities for admission, ticket sales, water sales as well as setup and cleanup. Volunteers receive free admission, 10 complimentary food tickets and free water. Morning and afternoon shifts are available.
