Vet’s Club of America hosts annual Memorial Day ceremony

The local Veteran’s Club of America is proud to host its annual Memorial Day ceremony, paying tribute to all who have served in our military. Taking place Monday, beginning at 11 a.m., all are welcome to attend the event, with more than 200 expected. Sheriff Mike Scott will make a speech, along with many of his deputies, the Iona-McGregor Fire Department and EMT staff will be on-hand, giving tours of their ambulances and all they do for the community, as well as the American Red Cross, a local Boy Scout Troop of America will be on hand, and Mission BBQ will be serving up a complimentary lunch following the ceremony, for up to 200.
“It should be a wonderful turnout, as it is every year,” said George Rook, commander of the Vet’s Club of America. “This is a very important day to us. Our Honor Guard and bag-piper will perform a tribute, followed by lunch and live music. All are welcome to attend.”
Focusing on service to military personnel, whether retired, in the reserves or still active, the Veteran’s Club of America, Post #1, 16701 San Carlos Blvd., does its part to promote and thank those who have served.
